A collapsible box is a rigid box that has learned to travel. The same greyboard and the same wrap, but the walls are scored so the box folds down to a fraction of its assembled height. It is assembled by hand in seconds, which is why it is the usual answer when a client wants the rigid look at 500–3,000 pcs and is paying air freight.

Collapsible Magnetic Boxes: questions before ordering

Is a collapsible box as strong as a rigid box?

The walls are the same greyboard and the same wrap, so the box looks and feels identical once assembled. The difference is the fold line: the walls are scored, so it is built for products up to a few kilos rather than for heavy or fragile items.

How much freight does the flat pack actually save?

Assembled boxes ship as air; collapsible boxes ship as board. On the same order the packed volume typically drops to a fraction of the assembled size, which is what makes air freight workable at low volume. We calculate the packed volume for your box before you commit.

Does the customer have to assemble it?

It pops up in a few seconds without glue or tools. We supply a short assembly video with every order, and for larger runs we can assemble and pack before shipment.

Can the box be reopened and reused?

Yes. The magnets and the scored walls survive repeated opening, so the box works as storage after the product is unpacked.
