Custom Gift Box Manufacturer for Retail and Corporate Gifting

Colormix is a custom gift box manufacturer in Guangzhou, China, producing rigid gift boxes, magnetic presentation boxes and multi-item gift sets from 500 pcs per size. Digital samples take 3–7 days; production-line samples take 7–10 days, and bulk runs 15–22 working days after approval. Structure, board grade and finish are chosen from the product, the gifting occasion and the unit cost, then produced against a signed sample.

A gift box is bought twice: once by the brand, who pays for it, and once by the customer, who judges it in the seconds before the lid comes off. That second transaction is what separates a gift box from a shipping carton, and it is decided by board thickness, the closing method and how the interior is finished.

Where this packaging is used

The same structure behaves differently across these three situations. They are the first we ask about.

  • Corporate gifting

Seasonal reorders with a client’s mark foiled on the lid.

  • Beauty and wellness sets

Multi-item boxes with a printed insert tray.

  • Limited editions

Short runs on a printed wrap, from 500 pcs.

Which box to choose

Three structures cover most briefs in this category. Each is quoted per size, from 500 pcs.

  • Magnetic flip-lid

The default gift construction: hinged lid, magnet closure, lined interior.

  • Lid and base

Two-piece box for taller items and heavier sets.

  • Collapsible magnetic

Ships flat, opens to a full rigid box at the destination.

What changes the packaging in this category

Four constraints drive most of the decisions here. They are the first things we ask about.

01

Rigid or folding sets the price band

A rigid gift box built on 1.5-3 mm greyboard holds its shape and reads as a luxury gift box. A folding gift box costs a fraction of that and ships flat. Most gifting ranges run both at different price points rather than choosing one.

02

The closing is the first impression

A magnetic gift box, a lift-off lid and a ribbon-tied box all open at a different pace. That pace is a brand decision before it becomes a production one, and it drives the dieline.

03

The interior is seen longer than the outside

Printed or suede-lined interiors, foam cradles and ribbon pulls stay visible for the whole time the box is open, which is exactly when the product is looked at.

04

Corporate gifting runs on deadlines

Seasonal gifting cannot slip. Sample approval, bulk lead time and shipping cut-offs are planned backwards from the delivery date, and multi-item gift sets are produced in one run so colour stays matched across the components.

A typical packaging set

Most brands in this category need three or four of these, not one. Each is quoted separately.

ComponentHow it is built
Rigid gift box Wrapped greyboard box with a lift-off lid and a gold-banded interior, lined in velvet or suede, with a foam or paperboard cradle for the product.
Magnetic gift box Hinged lid with concealed magnets, ribbon pull and a lined tray; the most common structure for premium retail gifting.
Corporate gift set One box with compartments for several items, plus a printed card or sleeve carrying the company logo.
Gift bag and sleeve Paper bag and printed sleeve matched to the box in the same print and finish, for handover at the counter.

Finishes that suit this category

Three finishes do most of the work here. The full library, photographed as macros, sits on its own page.

  • Gold foil stamp

Client mark on the lid, on paper or over lamination.

  • Emboss and deboss

Raised or recessed branding without ink.

  • Printed insert tray

Tray printed to the same artwork, so the interior is part of the design.

Gift Boxes & Corporate Gifting packaging: common questions

What is the difference between a gift box and a rigid box?

A rigid box describes the construction: greyboard wrapped in paper, which holds its shape. A gift box describes the job: a box built to be handed over and opened slowly. Most gift boxes are rigid, but a printed folding gift box is also sold as gifting when the budget is tighter.

Can our logo be foiled or embossed?

Yes. Gold and silver foil, blind emboss and deboss are applied to the wrap before the box is assembled, which keeps registration accurate on the lid.

Do you produce corporate gift sets with several items?

Yes. Multi-compartment inserts are cut from one block, and the set is quoted as a unit so the box, insert and printed card are produced together.

What is the minimum order for a custom gift box?

500 pcs per size, for every structure.
